FERNANDO Grande-Marlaska, Spain?s Interior Minister, alongside DGT Director Pere Navarro, has announced a reduced speed limit for Spain?s secondary roads.
The Interior Minister has confirmed that the new, maximum speed limit for many Spanish B-roads will be 90 km/h. This applies to those roads now allowing speeds of 100km/h.
Grande-Marlaska said: ?This measure will be enforced to try to match the maximum speed on these types of roads in other countries around us.?
The new limit will affect some 7,000km of roads, which, said Pere Navarro, account for 76% of the country?s road fatalities each year.
But the two men would not confirm when the new measures will be introduced.
