Canarian Weekly: Tenerife hotels can match world?s best

TEN Tenerife establishments dominate the list of most popular hotels in the world, compiled by the Travel Portal, with five based in Costa Adeje and four in Puerto de la Cruz.

The online site for holiday bookings, mainly in German-speaking countries, rewards hotels annually with the Holiday Check Award, depending on customer feedback.

More the 900,000 comments were collected in 2017, from which 705 hotels from around the world received the award.

Alberto Bernabe, Tenerife Tourist Board chief, said the awards were in recognition of the quality of our hotels.

He added: “We must be very proud to have such a standard, and having these quality establishments contributes to making Tenerife a world destination.”

The 10 Tenerife hotels to receive this prestigious award are the Gigaiga and Riu Garoe, in Puerto de la Cruz; Ambassador Apartments (Puerto de la Cruz); Adrián Hotels Jardines de Nivaria (Costa Adeje); Adrián Hoteles Colón Guanahaní (Costa Adeje); Hotel Botánico ( Puerto de la Cruz); Riu Palace Hotel (Costa Adeje); Adrián Roca Nivaria Hotels (Costa Adeje); Riu Arecas Hotel (Costa Adeje) and Hotel H10 Conquistador (Las Américas).

In addition, the Travel Portal’s Gold Award Holiday Check is given only to hotels who have won awards consecutively for the past five years. And this year’s recipients are Gigaiga and Riu Garoe.
